Ironvale Command
★★★★☆ 4.4
Ironvale Command is a strategy game that respects your brain. You defend a chain of mountain settlements against waves of raiders, and every unit you lose actually hurts because reinforcements are scarce. Positioning matters more than raw numbers, and the elevation system genuinely changes how you plan a turn.
The campaign eases you in with small maps before opening up to sprawling battles that take twenty minutes each. We appreciated that you can pause and resume mid-battle, which fits mobile play. There is no timer pressure forcing you to rush a move.
If you like chewing on a puzzle-like battlefield, this one is a treat. Just know the difficulty spikes hard around the middle chapters, and you may need to replay a map or two.
What we liked
- Elevation-based tactical depth
- Every unit loss feels meaningful
- Pause and resume any battle
